Bitcoin is freedom: Canada Crypto Clampdown vs El Salvador Bitcoin Adoption | Crypto News Today

Canada has shocked the world by freezing the bank and crypto accounts of its people tied to the Freedom Convoy protests, only proving why a network of decentralized currency outside of the state is absolutely necessary. Meanwhile, head south and you’ll see a country like El Salvador embracing Bitcoin and cryptocurrency as a way towards self-sovereign financial freedom.

  1. You may want to stick to reporting on crypto exclusively and avoid talking about politics if you're going to make wild claims about situations you know little about.

The convoy had started to threaten the economy of Ottawa (the capital) and Canada as a whole by blockading trade on the border. No country on Earth would tolerate this and the government rightfully aimed to choke the finances that made the Ottawa and border occupation possible. Whether they succeed is another matter, but the feds showed a lot of restraint considering most Canadians wanted a military response (which thankfully wasn't needed) to end the convoy.

I follow this channel because I'm excited about crypto and its possibilities, but let's not let our enthusiasm for it blind us to other real-world issues, like an attempt to blockade an economy and billions of dollars' worth of trade. A lot of people still need fiat to buy into crypto, after all.
